Intellectual Property Information
Due to the nature of our business, this is a very important subject to us. Matthew J. Scott Music Publishing respects the rights of its clients and thus only requests non-exclusive publishing (print, distribute, market, advertise, etc.) rights from them. This means that all products belong solely to their creators. It is up to the creators to decide how to license their products, but it is generally safe to assume that products are licensed under a standard copyright, so please respect that:
- Copying:
- In a word: don't. It shows us and our composers respect when you buy what you need for you and your ensemble. There are very few exceptions where you would be allowed to copy music, so when in doubt, please don't do it.
- Arranging and obtaining permission:
- Please obtain permission from the creator of the content before you arrange it or use a portion of it for any means beside performance. Many composers and authors have a personal web page listed on their profile through which you may contact them, but if not, please contact us to obtain their information.
